about Me

Hi! My name is Szymon

I was on the path to becoming a classical concert pianist. I studied piano in Berlin, practiced with intensity, and chased after perfection — until I realized that music was no longer giving me joy. I was caught in anxiety, fear of mistakes, and constant self-criticism. The stage became a place of stress, not expression. So I quit. I believed there was no place for someone like me in the world of performance, where only the confident and flawless seemed to belong.

That changed the day I heard an organ concert made entirely of improvisation. It was a revelation. For the first time, I saw music as something living, free, and spontaneous. I began to study organ improvisation and it completely transformed my relationship with music. Improvisation didn’t mean lowering standards — it meant shifting focus from perfection to presence, from control to creativity. I found peace in playing again. And most importantly, I rediscovered joy.

Now I help others make that same journey. Through ImproStation, I teach piano and organ improvisation — not only to advanced musicians, but also to beginners, and anyone who wants to reconnect with their creativity. My courses build up from simple patterns and lead you step by step into real-time music-making. You don’t have to master endless theory or fear mistakes. I provide clear guidance, musical tools, and a supportive approach that empowers you to explore freely. Many of my students come from classical backgrounds and feel burned out or blocked. What they find here is not just a method, but a new mindset: improvisation as a joyful and personal musical practice. You can learn this. You can feel music again — and express it in your own voice.
